Cooling capacity margin — auto
Cooling supply is held fixed at four units of 500 kW each (example values you would enter yourself) while the number of 50 kW racks climbs. The margin falls linearly, hits zero at 2,000 kW of load, and then goes negative. The function keeps returning a number all the way through; it never raises.
Racks (50 kW each)
5 racks · 250 kWload equals supply80 racks · 4,000 kW

How the check read it
Client-side port:the logic and table in this page are a TypeScript port of the harness function, checked against values exported from the Python tests. Not a live API call. Domain maturity, quoted from the research page: “Draft; no mechanical or thermal engineer has reviewed it yet. An audit of the input data caught real discrepancies, and the functions use whatever value a caller passes without correcting it. Pipe-velocity limits are cited to ASHRAE through secondary sources only.” Unit capacity (500 kW) and rack load (50 kW) are generic example numbers chosen for this sweep, not catalog data; real capacities are entered by the user. The sequence is staged. Colours are a display aid (amber under 10 % headroom), not a verdict from the harness.Real functions this maps to:
aggregate_rack_heat_load, check_cooling_capacity_margin.Not modeled: flow-dependent capacity (scalar nameplate comparison only), redundancy such as N+1, supply-water-temperature derating, and any pass or fail judgment of the margin. Rack heat is one uniform kW figure per rack, and the drawing is a schematic on a shared kW scale.See also:Cooling margin, interactive
